General Advice

  Arabic

  • Breastfeeding can enhance the relationship between the mother and her infant.

  • Don’t offer your newborn liquids such as water, glucose, mint, tea……. That’s because other liquids will cause the infant to feel full and thus take in less breast milk, it can also be a source of infection.

  • Breastfeeding only is enough nutrition for the baby for the first 6 months.

  • Starting from the 6th month the mother should introduce complementary food along with breastfeeding the baby until the age of two years or more.

  • Offering the baby milk in a bottle can cause him/ her to refuse the breast (even if the bottle is even offered once before breastfeeding is established)

  • Artificial feeding does not provide the infant with immunity making baby more vulnerable to infectious diseases.

  •  Artificial feeding will cost the family a lot of money and effort. Frequent illness will also cost the family a great deal for medical expenses and time lost from work.

  • Separating the mother and her infant at night and thus not breastfeeding the baby at night can cause the breast milk supply to reduce.
