Our goals:

Our goal is to protect, encourage and support breastfeeding so that the culture of a mother breastfeeding her child comes back again, and to distinguish the threat caused by milk bottles

We don’t accept any financial support from companies that produce or distribute breastmilk substitutes, baby's food, and bottles. We hope that all defenders breastfeeding rights commitment to this principle.

The site of breast-feeding is the first website specialized in the field of breastfeeding in the Arab countries.. We are working to provide assistance and information to those who required it both at the individual level, or at the level of associations, government bodies and civil officials, or interested in the issues of breastfeeding.. We welcome the exchange of information and expertise in this area..  

Introducing IBFAN in the Arab world

IBFAN Arab world was founded in 2002 with support from IBFAN global based in Geneva, Switzerland, that was after the first regional meeting, which was held in Cairo, and was attended by representatives of non governmental bodies and non-governmental organizations and working groups from eleven Arab countries, which is: Jordan, United Arab Emirates Arabia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Oman, Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen

IBFANS Seven Principles

  • The right of infants everywhere to have the highest level of health.
  • The right of families, and in particular women and children, to have enough nutritious food.
  • The right of women to breastfeed and to make informed choices about infant feeding.
  • The right of women to full support for successful breastfeeding and for sound infant feeding practices.
  • The right of all people to health services which meet basic needs.
  • The right of health workers and consumers to health care systems which are free of commercial pressures.
  • The right of people to organise in international solidarity to secure changes which protect and promote basic health
